Playing catch-up on a couple places... Saul's Restaurant & Deli (A-) and Minh's Garden (A-)

Minh's Garden Vietnamese Cuisine (A-)

A favorite of Melissa's and mine (if I may be so bold as to type for the both of us...And feel free to comment below, Mel) for Vietnamese is Minh's Garden on Clement and 4th Ave. It's cheap cheap, but the food is consistent and fresh. They have pretty good veggie options and also chicken-eater options. I like the chicken Pho and the whole snapper with pineapple and tomato. This place needs customers. People should eat here more often. It's been here for a long time and I'd hate to see it close. Yelp page here.

Saul's (Berkeley) (A-)

Last weekend I ate here with Gabe for the 2nd time. He had another place in mind, but I was secretly hoping we'd end up here. The place he wanted to go to, Venus, was closed for the 4th of July holiday weekend.

One of the main things I like about visiting LA or NY are the Jewish delis there. That said, I am not an expert on Jewish deli food. Especially because I've only had it in bits here and there. But I really like this place. It's not the cheapest, but it's clean and the people are nice and everything looks good and the things I've tried are totally yummy. And they give you lots of pickles! I like the old menus and records on the wall, too.

My only complaint was that it was really hard to pay when we were ready to leave, even though it wasn't that busy.

They do have mixed reviews on yelp. Most of the harsher ones from folks who have lived in more Jewrific cities like Chicago, LA, NY...And say Saul's isn't as good as some of the places there.
They do have a nice website, though.
